Tata Motors
has launched BS6 compliant Tiago NRG in India on 4th August 2021. The new 2021
Tiago NRG is based on the Tiago facelift that was introduced last year. The
Tiago NRG gets plenty of new styling features that help it to stand out
from the regular model. It is available in a single fully-loaded variant and
has four colour options - Foresta Green, Snow White, Fire Red and Cloudy Grey.
Tata has priced the Tiago NRG at ₹ 6.57 lakh for the
manual version while AMT version comes in at ₹ 7.09 lakh.
From the
front, the Tiago NRG can be distinguished by its chunkier bumper with black
cladding, new fog lamp, sharper headlamp, grille design and silver skid plate.
From the side view, there is liberal use of plastic body cladding around the
wheel arches and along the lower section of the body. The door handles, wing
mirrors, C-pillar and even the roof creates a nice contrasting shade of black.
The Tiago NRG gets 15-inch styled steel wheels. At the rear, the bumper has
been reprofiled and the tailgate gets a band of plastic cladding with an NRG
badge. The Tiago NRG gives an increase in ride height with 181mm of ground
clearance which is 11mm more than the regular Tiago.

Interior:
The Tiago NRG cabin is nearly identical to the regular Tiago. However,
there are some crucial changes. It gets an all-black theme inside compared to
the dual-tone black and grey in the regular Tiago. It has contrasting trim
elements around the AC vents and the gear lever. The seats are fabric in black
with white stitching and have a large boot space of 242-litres in its segment.

Features:
The Tiago NRG comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with
apple carplay and android auto connectivity. It has a digital instrument
readout, rear washer and wiper, cooled glovebox, steering-mounted controls,
height-adjustable driver’s seat, steering tilt adjust, 8-speaker Harman sound
system and power folding wing mirror. Interestingly the Tiago NRG gets a push
button start with keyless entry features that are not in regular Tiago. However,
it misses auto climate control that is available on regular Tiago. In terms of
safety, it includes dual airbags, ABS and EBD, corner stability control, rear
parking camera, rear parking sensors and rear defogger.

Engine and
Gearbox:
The Tiago NRG uses the same engine and gearbox combinations as the
regular Tiago, which means it is powered by a 1.2 litre three-cylinder
naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86 hp of power and 113 nm of
torque. The Tiago NRG include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox
option.
