MG Hector Plus

MG Motor Has Launched its new vehicle called MG Hector Plus launched in India. earlier in July. The MG Hector Plus is the extended version of 5-seater MG Hector compact SUV which had launched in 2019 in India. As the name “Plus” is added to the model let see what all new in it.

MG Hector Plus Interior 

While looking from outside the MG Hector Plus looks very similar to its sibling. Instead of spotting the difference from a distance, step in and find the actually plus in it. There are three rows inside the Hector Plus and the middle row comes with two caption seats each having its own armrest. All the seats having the contrasting stitching with a decent level of cushioning. Unlike the Carnival, the middle rows seats don’t move in and out which becomes a task to sit in the third row. MG motor says this last row is designed for children and teenagers.

If we talk about dimension, the Hector plus is a bit longer by 65mm at 4720mm, while the width, height and wheelbase remain the same as of the standard model by 1835mm, 1760mm and 2750mm respectively.TheHector Plus comes in four trim levels - Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. The starting ex-showroom price in India is rupees 13.48 lakh with “Style” petrol variant and goes to rupees 18.53 lakh of “Sharp” diesel variant. The diesel variant is available in all four trim levels. The Hector Plus comes in six colour options –Starry Sky Blue, Glaze Red, Starry Black, Burgundy Red, Aurora Silver and Candy White.

It adds few new features: steering wheel with leather-wrapped, an Infinity sound system, power driver seats, a panoramic sunroof, dedicated AC vents for the third row, all-black upfront grille, new LED daytime running lamps, set of revised headlights with LED projector and integrated turn indicators.

Smart swipe boot opening

For safety concern it comes with up to six airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), hill hold control and tyre pressure monitoring system. The Hector Plus also has 360 – degree camera view, front parking sensors and hands-free tailgate - new smart swipe boot opening mechanism which helps you to open the tailgate by simply swiping your foot under the rear bumper.

The tailgate opens to provide about 155 litres of space. However, it also provides 530 litres of usable space as the rear seats can be split and folded flat when not needed.
